Bad Boy MZ Magnum 54-Inch Zero-Turn Mower with 24HP Kohler 7000 V-Twin Engine

The Bad Boy MZ Magnum 54-inch zero-turn mower is designed for property owners with medium to large residential lawns who require a wide-deck zero-turn platform with a high-output engine, heavy-duty construction, and the field efficiency that comes from combining 54 inches of cutting width with zero-turn steering precision. Powered by a 24HP Kohler 7000 V-Twin engine, the MZ Magnum 54 delivers consistent torque and reliable power output across varied residential mowing conditions including thick grass, moderately uneven terrain, and extended continuous operation on properties requiring regular and thorough seasonal maintenance. The Kohler 7000 series is a purpose-built V-Twin engine platform designed for the upper range of residential and light semi-commercial outdoor power equipment applications, with construction specifications that reflect the demands of sustained use under heavier loads than entry-level residential engines. Bad Boy Mowers builds the MZ Magnum series with a heavier construction standard than typical residential zero-turn alternatives, reflecting the company’s emphasis on durability and long-term field performance in the residential market segment.

54-Inch Heavy-Duty Cutting Deck

The 54-inch heavy-duty cutting deck provides wide ground coverage per pass suited to medium to large residential properties, reducing the total number of passes required to complete a mowing session and shortening overall session time compared to 42-inch or 48-inch alternatives. The heavy-duty deck construction uses heavier steel and reinforced structural components than standard residential deck alternatives of similar cutting width, providing greater resistance to impact damage, deformation, and long-term dimensional changes under repeated operational stress. This construction maintains consistent blade alignment and cutting height geometry across the full 54-inch cutting width over extended periods of regular use, supporting reliable cut quality throughout the service life of the machine. At 54 inches, the deck covers substantially more ground per pass than the 48-inch MZ Magnum configuration, producing a meaningful reduction in total session time on properties of three-quarters of an acre or more where the additional coverage per pass can be used effectively across open mowing sections. The deck delivers a consistent and even cut across its full width on each pass under normal to moderately demanding residential mowing conditions, producing a uniform finish on standard turf types at the operator’s selected cutting height. Deck height is adjustable to accommodate different grass types and seasonal mowing requirements throughout the ownership period.

24HP Kohler 7000 V-Twin Engine

The Kohler 7000 series V-Twin engine is an engine platform positioned at the upper range of the residential outdoor power equipment market, designed to provide reliable high-output performance under sustained operational loads. At 24HP, the Kohler 7000 provides the power required to drive a 54-inch heavy-duty deck at full blade speed through standard to demanding grass conditions without performance loss under sustained load. The V-Twin configuration delivers balanced power output from two cylinders, reducing engine vibration and contributing to a smoother operating experience during extended mowing sessions on large properties. The Kohler 7000 series is engineered for reliable starting performance across seasonal temperature ranges and consistent operation throughout the full mowing season with routine maintenance at standard service intervals. Accessible service points support routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, air filter replacement, and spark plug service, and Kohler’s established dealer and independent supplier network across the United States ensures parts availability and service support throughout the machine’s ownership period. The additional 2HP compared to the 22HP Kawasaki in the 48-inch MZ Magnum configuration is appropriate for the increased deck load of the wider 54-inch cutting system.

MZ Magnum Platform and Heavy-Duty Frame

The MZ Magnum 54 is built on a heavy-duty steel frame that reflects Bad Boy’s construction philosophy of building residential zero-turn machines with a higher structural standard than the typical residential market norm. The frame is designed to support the combined operational demands of a 54-inch heavy-duty deck and a 24HP engine across regular and frequent residential use without frame fatigue or premature structural wear. All frame components, mounting points, and hardware are selected for resistance to operational stress and corrosion under repeated seasonal use and outdoor storage conditions. The drivetrain components are matched to the engine output and deck load to ensure consistent and reliable power delivery throughout the service intervals. The overall MZ Magnum 54 build positions it as a practical choice for operators who mow frequently on larger properties and need equipment that maintains consistent field performance across a full mowing season without the early wear issues associated with lighter residential zero-turn machines.

Zero-Turn Steering and Field Efficiency

The zero-turn steering system on the MZ Magnum 54 provides near-zero turning radius capability in all directions, enabling precise navigation around trees, garden structures, fence lines, and other fixed obstacles across medium to large residential properties. On a 54-inch deck machine, the zero-turn steering is particularly important for maintaining clean cutting paths near obstacles and reversing direction efficiently at the end of each pass without repositioning the machine. The independent lap bar controls provide direct and responsive management of each drive wheel separately, enabling smooth direction changes and speed adjustments during both straight mowing passes and tight maneuvering sections near obstacles throughout the session. The combination of a 54-inch heavy-duty deck and zero-turn steering produces an efficient mowing pattern on large open properties that minimizes unproductive travel time and maintains consistent cutting speed across the full session.

Operator Platform and Comfort

The seating and control layout on the MZ Magnum 54 is designed to support comfortable operation during extended mowing sessions on medium to large properties. The seat provides stable support during both straight mowing passes and maneuvering sections, and the lap bar controls are positioned for natural arm movement throughout the session. The overall machine stability on residential terrain during extended sessions contributes to a predictable and controlled operating feel throughout longer mowing sessions on larger properties.

What Is Included

This listing includes the Bad Boy MZ Magnum 54-inch zero-turn mower as described. Please review the full product specifications and warranty details before purchase. For questions about shipping, delivery timeframes, or product information, contact our support team directly.

Shipping

Orders typically arrive within 8–12 business days of purchase, whether you’re ordering a small part or a full-size mower or tractor. As soon as your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with carrier tracking information so you can follow its progress.

Small parts and accessories ship via standard ground carrier and are delivered directly to your door. Mowers, tractors, and other large equipment ship via freight carrier with curbside delivery — the carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window, and the unit will be unloaded at the curb or the end of your driveway.

We currently ship to all 48 contiguous U.S. states. We’re unable to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. territories, or international addresses at this time.

Free shipping is included on every order — no coupon code or minimum purchase required. Need it faster? Contact our support team before placing your order and we’ll let you know what expedited options are available.

For full details, see our Shipping Policy.

Returns

Parts, accessories, and large equipment such as mowers and tractors can all be returned within 90 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in their original packaging or condition to qualify, and standard items should include your order number or proof of purchase.

Because large equipment ships via freight, returns are arranged through our support team — please don’t attempt to ship equipment back on your own. Our team will schedule a freight pickup and walk you through preparing the unit for return.

Return shipping costs, including freight carrier fees, are the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or defective, in which case we cover the cost.

Once we receive and inspect your return, approved refunds are issued to your original payment method — typically within 5–7 business days for standard items and 7–10 business days for large equipment, since freight returns require a physical inspection before approval.

If an item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we’ll arrange a repair, replacement, or refund at no cost to you — no return shipping required.

Need to cancel an order instead? Contact us before it ships and we can usually cancel at no charge; see our Cancellation Policy for details.
